Washington Liquor Laws
Serving alcohol in Washington outside a brick and mortar establishment can be tricky. It's an added stress especially when you're trying to put on an event or have a special day like a wedding.
Options:
- Do your event, festival, wedding on property that already owns a Facility License.
- A Banquet Permit allows the service and consumption of liquor at a private, invitation-only banquet or gathering held in a public place or business. Examples include weddings, company banquets, retirement parties, and club, organization or church events. This Does Not Authorize the Sale of Alcohol You must buy the alcohol.
- Special Occasion License for a Nonprofit Society or Organization allows to sell spirits, beer, and wine by the individual serving for on-premises consumption at a specified event. It is illegal for a third party (e.g. a promoter) to run an event on your behalf in exchange for a percentage of the profits. (RCW 66.24.010). The nonprofit must buy, sell and keep the profits of the alcohol.
- Sports Entertainment Facility License—Caterer's Endorsement allows the licensee to remove from the liquor stocks at the licensed premises, for use as liquor for sale and service at event locations. If the event is open to the public, it must be sponsored by a society or organization.

MACK Beverage Services parent company owns a baseball team. Doing alcohol for events is part of the business. We expanded into festivals & events to help others be successful. Boards changed over, service groups couldn't find volunteers, the risk of buying product, desire to want to things legally equipment, staffing....were all reason people came to us. The Whiskey Wagon was built so we could take our show on the road. Soon after the Beer Barrel came to be.
With so many bartenders working for us, weddings seemed obvious. What we found out was we were very valuable to weddings. It was a feel good service for us to do. Many weddings are at places that don't have an alcohol license. The couple is responsible for a banquet permit. They're also responsible to purchase the alcohol. Most without a background in knowing how much beer, wine, champagne to order. Then they also need to hire bartenders. It's a lot mentally and financially.
Over time we've worked with Fairs, Events, Festivals, Concerts (piers, parks, private venues and public), Block Party's, Weddings. Serving 100's of thousands, safely. Bringing an added experience to all these things.

- We have the License. You don't have to get a permit or license. It's part of our license.
- We are insured. We list every venue we serve at.
- We aid in design. With our experience in serving and your knowledge of the facility we'll work with you on setup and design to help make the experience the best it can be.
- We'll develop an operating plan specific to what you're doing. We customize. We have a lot of experience in doing this. It's a must to make sure everything is as smooth as possible.
- We're creative. We have mobile trailers, portable bars, jockey boxes. But we also can build something specific, or that is more functional when necessary.
- We're priced extremely well. Larger events we pay out a percentage. For a wedding we typically are half the price you could have your wedding liquid catered for.
